My NotesBullying is when a person does or says something that makes you look bad and hurt your feelings. They could make fun of you ,leaving you out of activities, and taking your stuff with out permission or they could force you to do something or  they could physically hurt you.Anything someone does that makes you feel bad or unsafe is bullying. If you are getting bullied you have to use your head and understand why someone is picking on you they are picking on you because they think it makes them feel bigger and you smaller.A tip is when they bully you then just walk away and ignore them or gather up with a bunch of friends.Just tell them that they`re making fun of you and that its hurting you they might not even realize.
It is estimated that 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students. Source: National Education Association.
American schools harbor approximately 2.1 million bullies and 2.7 million of their victims.
One in seven students is either a bully or victim.

Students report incidents of bullying as a problem at their school.
Mean behavior among kids.

In a poll of 232 kids in kindergarten through 8th grade at a Connecticut elementary school, every child claimed to have been the victim of at least one schoolmate’s or sibling’s meanness in the previous month.
BULLYING MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. TOO MANY CHILDREN ARE
BEING EMOTIONALLY OR PHYSICALLY INJURED DUE TO MEANNESS.

The best way to help children not become victims of bullies is by teaching them bully-proofing skills. Parents Do Make A Difference has simple but powerful strategies that help children learn to assertively and confidently stand up to bullying and teasing.

As a culture, we are focusing new attention on childhood bullying and harassment. As we watch children being crushed by bullying, we often feel powerless. No more! There are ways to stop bullying, based on decades of research.
According to world-wide research, 50% reductions in rates of bullying are possible.
There is little need to describe why people want to stop childhood bullying. Youth who bully frequently during adolescence are more likely to be aggressive and to have criminal records in adulthood. Bullied children may grow up with diminished self-confidence.
We sometimes see bullying as an inevitable part of childhood. Yet, according to world-wide research, 50% reductions in rates of bullying are possible. The Stop Bullying Now intervention is based on the work of many researchers in bullying prevention, including Norway's Dan Olweus, England's Smith and Sharp, the USA's Dorothea Ross, Canada's Wendy Craig and Debra Pepler, Australia's Ken Rig by, and on social worker Stan Davis's forty years of experience with children, families, and schools.Bullying can be defined as the use of one's strength or status to intimidate, injure, or humiliate another person of lesser strength or status. Bullying can be categorized as physical, verbal, or social. Physical bullying involves physical injury or threat of injury to someone, while verbal bullying refers to teasing or insulting someone. Social bullying refers to the use of peer rejection or exclusion to humiliate or isolate a victim. Bullying must be distinguished from other forms of peer aggression or conflict; bullying always involves a power imbalance between the bully and the victim .
